Mission Statement
The Gainesville Community Alliance (GCA) is a social membership
organization that provides an environment in which gay. lesbian,
bisexual, transgendered people, and their friends have opportunities
to meet through educational and social activities.

President's
Message
Count your blessings and be thankful every day. I am asking
each Member of GCA to do something special, personally, for
the Haitian relief effort. This event is by far the most devastating
human tragedy I have been close to, and I am totally taken
by the courage and the strength of the great majority of the
Haitian people.
Please renew your memberships for 2010, GCA needs your support
to continue providing social alternatives here in the Greater
Gainesville community. Welcome to the new members who have
recently joined, I hope you will become involved and bring
others into our group. For all who haven't, RENEW NOW!!
The GCA Board, which meets every other month to develop and
operate the social calendar and other functions, has room
for one or two more at-Large positions. All you have to do
to join us, is to contact me at 352-284-3881. I hope someone
will consider this opportunity to add their energy to keep
the Board fresh. GCA also needs hosts for 2010 and I am asking
each member to consider having a house party (it can be anywhere,
not just a home, just get creative), and possibly get together
with one or two others to co-host. This year the Board has
raised the stipend to assist hosts to $125.00 for supplies,
or whatever you may need. The list of available months are
in your newsletter, online, or in print. Please come forward;
hosts are the lifeblood of the group.
My gratitude to Greg for last month's gathering at his home.
It is always anticipated and well-attended with new and familiar
friends and faces. Our next event will be on Valentine weekend,
on Saturday, February 13th at 6:30pm at the home of Mark and
David. Please mark your calendar and ask a friend to come
with you. See you soon.
Go TEAM USA in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and
Happy Valentine's Day!
