The Gainesville Community Alliance (GCA) is a social membership organization that provides an environment in which gay. lesbian, bisexual, transgendered people, and their friends have opportunities to meet through educational and social activities.

President's Message

Hello GCA members, thank goodness for the rain, it is a welcome relief! I hope you all are doing well, and will plan to join us this month on the 27th (Stonewall Day for you history buffs), at Bunne's and Kelle's home. See details and directions within.

I am still looking for an appropriate venue for our November meeting, which combines food and a short annual business meeting with the slate of the 2010 Board. More on that date later.

Please plan to attend the PRIDE Awards banquet on Friday, September 25, 2009 A great annual community event, GCA has greatly assisted the PRIDE week activities and this particular evening by volunteering to set up and arrange the silent auction. And I might add with pride, that GCA has had more than a few members recognized over the years with awards for their individual achievements. So, plan on coming this year! I believe I will be the emcee once again, and I love to see a sizeable turnout of our group. Donations of auction items from you would be greatly appreciated: antiques, collectibles, art, gift certificates, professional services, dining, and anything else you would care to offer. Thank you, again!
